VACATION

  My wellness vacation in Kaprun (Austria) was exactly how I imagined it – wholesome and perfect! I’ve been longing for a Spa retreat for yeaaars now. Yet being a broke student at the time and then COVID suddenly hitting all of us and stopping life as we were used to, made it seem like it was almost impossible. So I cannot even describe how excited I was just planning this vacation, let alone arriving there. At the end we decided on the Tauern Spa hotel in Kaprun. First of all – the views were absolutely incredible. I’m not the biggest nature person, granted the fact that I almost die every spring because of my allergies might be a BIG contributor to that fact, but there I was just blown away. It was so so beautiful! Our days mostly looked like this: waking up to the view of the mountains, after breakfast directly heading to the sauna, enjoying massages and then end the day with a luxurious dinner and some yummy cocktails. Inbetween we decided to explore a little town called Zell am See near our hotel. We also took up the opportunity to go (almost all the way) up the mountain called Kitzsteinhorn with a passenger ropeway. Since I’m actually afraid of heights I’m not going to lie, there were some moments it set in that we’re thousands of meters up in the air and the anxiety followed, but I was able to focus on the beautiful view which really helped. I mean look at these photos – it was sooo worth it! On our last evening at the Spa hotel a little girl (not older than six or seven years old) that was seated with her family at the table next to us came up to me and gifted me a painting she made for me. Her mother explained that she loved the outfits I had been wearing and thought I was pretty, so she decided to make a painting for me. Aww, that was most definitely one of the sweetest moments in my life and a highlight of our vacation. That painting and it’s meaning really is a treasure for me. Currently I’m looking for a beautiful frame to put it in, but I just have to share a photo of it with you all.  Overall I had such an incredibly lovely time and I will definitely be going back for more.
